2022 Ontario provincial Election

We are keeping track of all the women and gender diverse candidates who put their name on the ballot to provide a simple and accessible resource for Canadians, journalists, and political parties.

Ontario Provincial Election 2022

This year, the Ontario Election will be taking place on June 2nd, 2022.

In the previous provincial Election in 2018, 49 women MPP were elected in Ontario, which was the highest number and percentage of any provincial legislature across the country (39.5%). In this provincial election, Equal Voice is still advocating for gender parity – that means at least 50% of nominated candidates and at least 50% of elected MPPs being women or gender diverse people. Our aim is to have at least 60 women or gender diverse MPPs.

That being said, we are keeping track of all the women and gender diverse candidates who put their name on the ballot. The goal is to provide a simple and accessible resource for Canadians, journalists, and political parties.
