Facilitated by Courtney Clarke, this program consists of 8 online sessions including a mix of group exercises, guest speakers, and networking opportunities with other women and gender diverse leaders from across Canada.

Each session is approximately 2 hours for a total of 16 hours of learning over 4 weeks. Participants will receive a comprehensive workbook to guide them through the courses.

This 8-session program costs $99 and bursaries are available.

Where do you want to make your impact?

Session 3: Get Prepared
What you need to do behind the scenes to get ready for a life in the public eye.

Session 4: Raise Your Profile
Strategies on how to build your overall network and canvassing for votes.
Guest Speaker: Former Peterborough ON Councillor Kemi Akapo

Session 5: Media Confidence
Define your persona and learn how to prepare for different kinds of media interviews.

Session 6: Face the Barriers
An open conversation about systemic and overt barriers, ways to cope, and why we must continue to persist.
Guest Speakers: Welland ON Councillor Sharmilla Setaram and former QC MP Eleni Bakapanos

Session 7: Mobilize Your Team
Learn about different campaign team roles, personality traits and skills to look for, as well as tips on how to recruit/manage volunteers.

Session 8: Campaign Finance & Fundraising
How much will you need, where will you get it, and what are the rules?
Guest Speakers: Former NS MLA Joanne Bernard and Campaign Manager Jennifer Crowe

 

Sessions take place online using Zoom, in English only.

To participate, you will require access to the internet, Zoom, a microphone, and a web camera.
